I bought my car from buyacar.co.uk back in February 2020 and was initially happy with it. But let me tell ya, I’m not too thrilled with this company! When I made the purchase, they registered the vehicle under a ‘finance company’ instead of my name. This has led to the Log Book (V5C document) being incorrect, as it doesn’t list me as the owner or registered keeper. Because of this mix-up, my road tax payment didn’t go through. As a result, my car got clamped for not being taxed while parked on a public road. I had to shell out £200 to the clampers and spent hours waiting around, stuck without my car for most of the day. Getting in touch with this company is nearly impossible. Even now, two years later, I’m still dealing with road tax issues due to their blunders. I can’t use the online DVLA system because of the wrong name on the Log Book, so I have to haul a binder full of car and ID documents to the post office to sort it out.

Right now, I’m in touch with the DVLA to get my car properly registered and I’m also seeking advice on how to reclaim the £200 fine I had to pay because of their mistakes.

Just a heads up, I’ve noticed on this forum that a couple of other customers have faced the same issue.

They threatened to arrest me and tow my car since it wasn’t in my name. Because of this, my Tax direct debit didn’t renew either, since the car wasn’t registered to anyone. I ended up spending hours on the roadside with the police, and now I’m stuck with fines from the DVLA, plus an £80 fee to get the car registered in my name. I reached out to buyacar, but they just shrugged it off, saying it’s not their issue and that I should’ve followed up with the DVLA myself. What a useless company! They’ve cost me a ton in fines that I shouldn’t have to pay. Seriously, just buy your car somewhere else; they’ll definitely mess something up.

I got my car financed back in 2020. The vehicle's alright, but it does rattle when it's idling, and I've had engineers check it out a few times at my expense, but no luck fixing it. The real problem is that BuyaCar hasn't registered me as the keeper, so the car isn't in my name at all. I've reached out to BuyaCar multiple times through email, asking them to sort this out and send me the V5 form, but I haven't heard back. It's really frustrating.

I got myself a car from Buyacar, but the brake pads had a problem; they were making a whistling sound. I let them know, and they quickly took care of it. The car itself runs really smoothly without any problems. I would totally recommend them.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! Car arrived with a ton of dents and scratches (which they just painted over), the carpet is coming up, the splitter is cracked, and there are deep scratches all over the boot. There are huge scratches on the back windscreen, a faulty stereo fuse, and a cigarette burn on the passenger side. I really wish I could just get rid of this car, but they totally took advantage of me being a 19-year-old and completely ripped me off. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. They've been absolutely useless, and I will never deal with this company again. If I could give zero stars, I would!
